The practical smoothness of the coating surface ensures that it is continuous and even.
It is important to ensure that there is no flow hanging, dripping, or slag during the installation and combination of plating parts.
Plating parts should have a surface free from any leakage plating.
The tiny black spot with a diameter of less than 0.5 mm is the area where leakage plating has occurred.
The height of droplet or slag should not exceed 1.5 mm when it comes to unjoined areas or angles.
The plating parts come in contact with hanging tools and operating tools, resulting in contact scars. However, it is important to note that no iron is exposed during this process.
Zinc attachment amount and zinc layer thickness
For platings with a thickness of 3-4 mm, it is recommended that the zinc adhesion should not exceed 460g/m for optimal results. This translates to a minimum average thickness of the zinc layer of 65 microns.
The adhesion of zinc should be at least 610g/m when the plating thickness exceeds 4mm, which denotes that the average coating thickness of zinc should be no less than 86 microns.
The uniformity of the coating is an essential factor in the galvanization process. When tested with copper sulfate solution and etched five times, the galvanized layer should appear uniform without any exposure of the underlying iron. A consistent and even coating ensures the durability and longevity of the material.
The adhesion strength between the base metal and the zinc layer of the plated parts should be strong enough to prevent any detachment or bulging during the hammer test. It is crucial that the coating adhesion is maintained firmly to ensure the longevity and durability of the product.
Requirements for parts to be plated
The smoothness of the plated parts' surface is crucial, and any dirt that cannot be removed by pickling method must be absent. This includes harmful substances like excessive rotten spots, cement, grease, paint, and asphalt.
It is required that all welds in the components are devoid of air and must be effectively sealed.
Exhaust and zinc inlet holes are mandatory for both pipe fittings and containers.
For proper processing, the steel pipe used as a workpiece must be finished and threadless. If there is any thread present, it needs to be safeguarded during the process.
